RestockMate Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 29, 2026
RestockMate (“the app”) helps Shopify merchants monitor inventory, alert staff about low stock, and notify customers when products are back in stock.
Data we collect
- Shop domain, staff email used for merchant alerts, and app subscription plan.
- Product, variant, and inventory quantities needed to compute stock status.
- Order line items (variant id, quantity, created date) from recent orders to estimate sales velocity — not full customer profiles.
- Customer waitlist contacts submitted voluntarily on the Online Store Notify Me form (email required; optional phone and SMS consent on Enterprise). These contacts are stored via our App Proxy, not read from the Shopify Admin Customer API. We do not collect shipping or billing addresses.
- Notification send logs (recipient, time, success or failure).
How we use data
We use this data only to provide RestockMate features: inventory dashboards, merchant alerts, customer restock notifications (email; consented SMS on Enterprise), usage metering, and App Store compliance requests. Waitlist email is required so we can notify shoppers when inventory returns.
Sharing
Emails are sent through Amazon SES and SMS through Amazon SNS. We do not sell customer data. Shopify may receive billing information through Shopify App Pricing.
Retention and deletion
When a merchant uninstalls the app, session tokens are deleted immediately. Remaining shop data is deleted when Shopify sends the mandatory shop/redact webhook (typically 48 hours later). Customer waitlist rows are deleted when Shopify sends customers/redact.
Customer rights
We fulfill Shopify’s mandatory compliance webhooks: customers/data_request,customers/redact, and shop/redact. Merchants can also export or remove waitlist subscribers from the app.
